Penang, Truly Asia!

Penang, Truly Asia!
Penang, Malaysia

Hey Guys! It's me again for an amazing birthday escapade. Yes! it's my birthday! Come and join me as I unveil my recent travel to one of the oldest state of Malaysia, Penang!

Penang is a state of Malaysia located on the northwest coast of the straits of Malacca which consist of 2 parts, the Penang Island and Seberang Perai. "Penang" comes from a malay word "Pulau Pinang" which means "Island of areca nut palm". It's capital is Georgetown, a town rich in culture and arts, the main attraction of my photowalk!

Around the streets of Georgetown you will find street art images painted in the wall. A trail wherein you need to use your google map skills in finding all the street arts scattered around the different corners of the historical town. I found almost all of them except for those arts located inside the museum.

Aside from street arts, you can also visit old structure like temples, churches and old houses around. Below are some of them that I've visited.

Khoo Kongsi Temple

Acheen Street Mosque

Poh Hock Seah Temple

Cheah Si Sek Tek Tong Temple

Kapitan Keling Mosque

Kew Leong Tong Temple

Other temples and old houses

Church of the Assumption

Old Dragon Boat

Penang Seaside

Kek Lok Si Temple
One of the oldest and famous temple in Penang. A 30 minute to 1 hour bus ride from the town of Georgetown located at the downside of Air Itam

Penang Hill
Is also known as Bukit Bendera, comprises of group of peaks located 6 kilometeres away from Georgetown. The most convenient way to go up the hill is to ride the Penang Hill Railway.

Of course, travel wouldn't be complete without food! Streets in Penang are renowed as food paradise especially in Georgetown. I tried my best to taste all of the "must eat" foods and here are some of them.

Penang Asam Laksa

Char Koay Teow

Teochew Chendol

Dragon Ice Ball

Thank you for travelling with me, until the next journey!
TRULY ASIA!
